Rationalist, I know you are not obtuse, so why do you try so hard to sound that way?
I think you would like to make Earth into a triangle, and have same-sex theories patrol the outer bounds of the triangle.
It is now the oppression by a small, insignificant minority threatening a much larger majority. And, one day, that majority will rebel. Xavier

  2. Xavier - Please describe how you, personally, are persecuted by the fact that a lesbian couple down the block can now get married. Personally it has no bearing on me or my marriage.

Rationalist, you may not understand what real Faith is ! People of no Faith tend to be that way.
It is because of my Faith, and the teachings within and by my Faith, that the idea of human beings living in a manner forbiden by the Bible, goes against my Faith. It offends me, the same as a sexual abuser living in my same town offends me. I note you carefully chose to use the word perscute- though that has never been the term used by any of the proponents of this discussion.
Changing the goal-lines, expanding the definition, and the like are tools of the disingenuous"

  4. Xavier - I do know what faith is. For the first 30 years or so of my life I was a very committed Catholic.

As to the word persecute, you used the word oppression. Okay substitute that word. How are you oppressed by gays and their actions?

And I'm sorry if the idea that some people somewhere are sinning offends you. Personally I could care less what two consenting adults so in the privacy of their home. What I offends me is the physical and mental oppression members of our society feel is their right to impose on others without their consent.

I will pray that some day you may change and find a true Faith in God- one that gives you clarity of vision, the gift of understanding, and the knowledge that we are not alone on the planet- what others do, and how their morality affects others is a part of the Human condition.
We do not live in a cave of isolation, nor do we live inoculated against the sin of others.
You may choose to ignore TRUTH, but, it still remains TRUTH inspite of your lack of belief ! X

  6. I have changed and now am a non believer. As you say our actions affect others and just as I do not seek to impose my concept of marriage on you you should not seek to impose your concept of marriage on others. Doesn't that seem reasonable?

And like all opponents of SSM, you are not able to give an example of how it affects you personally.

    1. Is that the extent of your response, a pity aphorism? Is it that you lack a reply, or won't deign myself with a reply?

I do not wish to argue with you. God is not an argument for me. He is my Creator, Saviour, my Teacher, and my Hope. May you fine Peace in your life. Xavier

    1. Fine. But I views this less as an argument and more as a discussion. So be it
