Liberal Members of Parliament are ordered to vote for euthanasia bill.

Too bad that Prime Minister JUSTIN Trudeau doesn't have the same democratic courage of his convictions as Prime Minister PIERRE ELLIOT Trudeau demonstrated when the Parliament abolished the death penalty in 1976.  Back then, P.E.T. allowed a free vote in the House of Commons because he:  a) understood any question dealing with the taking of a citizen's life was a matter of deep personal conviction involving the conscience of all Members, and thus he b) believed that the role of elected legislators in a representative democracy is to make such life and death decisions free of the party whip as a sign of respect to their consciences and constituents in making such an important decision such as the taking of a life by the state.  Evidently young Justin lacks the trust and respect for his fellow parliamentarians as their compatriots experienced from his father when he asked them to deal with their life and death matter: capital punishment. Canada's euthanasia lobby pushes euthanasia for people who cannot consent.

A recent poll commissioned by the euthanasia lobby was designed to pressure Canada's parliament to approve euthanasia for incompetent people with advanced dementia. The Bishop Who Wants to Bring Great Books to the Midwest – Aleteia.org

Reading has always been an essential part of my life spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically. From my earliest days I can remember sitting down in a corner with my nose buried deep in a book, lost in the imagery and narrative of a story. My mother used to remark that she could set a bomb off around me when I was reading and I probably wouldn't even notice. Even today I am inspired by a personal image of heaven as a library filled with more works than I could read in an eternity! Thus, when I came upon this story of a bishop who recommends reading the classics as a method of developing and sustaining one's faith, I couldn't resist sharing it here. So for all my fellow bibliophiles, here's something from a spiritual shepherd that we can all relate to. The Bishop Who Wants to Bring Great Books to the Midwest – Aleteia.org

Assisted suicide lobby: force doctors to kill.

"Lest you think religious institutions will never be forced to act lethally, they already are in Quebec, where euthanasia is euphemistically called “aid in dying,” and from all appearances, an approach that will be taken throughout all of Canada when the euthanasia-is-a-right Supreme Court decision goes into effect nationally.   This despite the Canadian Charter’s guarantee of “freedom of conscience and religion.”" Click on link below to read entire article:  Euthanasia Prevention Coalition Alex Schadenberg, Euthanasia Prevention Coalition: Assisted suicide lobby: force doctors to kill.

Woman says she is a cat trapped in the wrong body - she hisses at dogs, hates water and claims she can even see better at night - Telegraph

If it is our subjective experience/decision that is supposed to be the determining factor in establishing our gender, then is it ok for this woman to be legally treated and accepted as a cat? Instead of providing an ambisexual washroom, shouldn't she have the legal right to demand a litter box for her to relieve herself? Or does she have the right to urinate wherever she wishes in public to be able to mark her space and 'communicate' with other 'human felines'? This is what happens when we strip physiology of its determinative power to legally establish our basic identity attributes. Catholic leaders and NDP face showdown in Edmonton | Opinion | Calgary Sun

Bishop Fred Henry of Calgary I was privileged to have him as a professor during my Seminary years in London, Ontario and have always been impressed with his fortitude and courage when it comes to arguing for the faith.  If only more of his brother bishops would 'step into the ring' as +Bishop Fred Henry (Calgary) does, our Church would be a lot stronger today.
